Only ever seen one
A few years back, was fairly ugly.
Looked like a home made unit

Throttle locks are the go, I started off with a home made palm grip & progressed to a throttle lock.

As inaccurate as a throttle lock is, it does the job of relieving your hand for a few moments. I have $10.25 in a homemade one including a $10.00 stainless steel knob. I have it on the end of my kuryakin grips. . You may need a different design if you have the stock grips and bar end weights.
BTW, the other 25 cents is a quarter inside the grip to act as a friction stop.

Throttle lock inaccurate ? How did you come to that conclusion ?, It locks on for as long as you want it to, I have mine set so that if I have to overtake a bike/vehicle, or brake for a 'roo, it's no drama. Set the friction so you still have control & release friction when you get close to twisties/hills, etc.

Saw this on another Triumph forum. Go to mccruise.com . They have what looks to be a fully electronic and complicated setup. About $800.

Throttle locks don't control speed to a constant when going up or down a hill.
That is all I meant.

Don't forget the pepper and magnifying glass , rumour has it that the 2018 Triumph medium cruiser will be fly by wire which includes cruise control I believe.

That was the case, Stevetac old mate, but I soon stopped when I realised I'd end up like you two pair of senile old farts.

Throttle locks aren't true cruise control. But as far as I'm concerned they're just as good. Unless you want to ride for hours on end without ever touching the handlebars, you still must keep your hands on the throttle. The throttle lock allows you to hold on loosely or no handed. It is only ever an issue in erratic traffic. Even then modulating the throttle with the locks is better than no lock. I leave mine on almost all the time (except in heavy traffic). It's a nice feature. Save your money and time. replace your bar ends with a Throttlemeister.

Was only saying what I use, (the t/locks are simple & uncomplicated) & good for straight boring roads, can't use in hills/heavy traffic, obviously. Car cruise controls aren't much good in hills as well, as fuel consumption increases due to kick back of the transmission (auto) (just my opinion).

I have these Avon grips Link that come with a throttle boss attached on my bike & I was able to go 13 hours from Chicago to New Jersey in one shot. I would not have been able to make this trip non-stop if not for these grips. It's not cruise control but it's a much cheaper alternative for long distances.

The OP hasn't logged on here since he posted that question about a cruise control for the Bird. In any case I have two McCruise units and installed both of them myself. Yes about $800 US, a reasonably intelligent person with some mechanical skills and that can follow directions can install these in about 6 to 8 hrs. They work perfectly, throttle locks are useless on anything other than perfectly flat level terrain with no traffic.

I just put one on this week also. $800 is a little steep for something you don't use all the time. Also I live in Ok. Lots of straight long highways before I get to the curves. And then when hitting the twisties you're not going to be using any kind of cruise control. Don't get me wrong if they go to ride by wire and offer it on a Tbird, I'd be the first in line. But sad to say the Thunderbirds future doesn't look good. So I doubt that happens.
